Kevin Love: Tier Two

This might be a bit rash, considering Love has only played three games so far this season, but the team seems to play considerably worse with Love on the floor. The ball movement is less fluid, since the ball stops at either Love or Pek, and for all the offensive rebound hustle they offer, their defensive effort is non-existent. These past three games remind me of the end of last season, with the absence of Rubio. The ball movement was stagnant, and for all of Love's offensive IQ, when he's defended well in the spots he likes, his game sputters.

Don't get me wrong, when Rubio comes back, Love will be look great, since he won't have to look for his own offense the whole time. But maybe those naysayers are right about Love being a secondary player. He is exceptionally smart on offense and on the boards, but his lack of athleticism and length hurts him when he's on the block, with a double team coming. Love was solid as the glue guy on the Olympic team, and with a guy like Westbrook, Wade, or Durant on his team, Love could be the key piece to a title. But I don't see him winning a title as the face of a franchise, like Dirk did.
