OK, if Ricky is indeed returning soon, it will then probably be a little while before Roy or Bud returns, so the question becomes: "Who will start and what will the rotations look like?" Already last night, we see Adelman tightening up the rotation. Four starters will be certain (once Ricky is playing full minutes): Pek, Love, AK & RR. The big question is what will happen at the two? So with the following options, what does RA do?

2. Alexy Schved

3. Luke Ridnour

4. JJ Barea

If we can use DWill as a prophetic foreshadowing, I am thinking that RA has been planning for this in advance. Just as DWill started for a time to fill the KLove hole and then jumped back into the DNPCD position so that Adelman could keep DC consistently in his "bench-energy guy" role for the second string, so I also believe that is what is happening now at the two.

If I had to guess, I think Lee will be joining DWill and Amundson in collecting DNPCD's for the remainder of the season. I think RA plans on keeping JJ and Alexy together with DC as his 6,7,8 guys with spurts of Howard to spell AK and then playing Luke at the starting two to give Ricky the best outside spot-up shooting option that the team has left with Bud out. Ricky will always guard the quicker and more potent offensive threat of the opposition's guards (either the one or two) and Luke's defense will be supplemented by RR and AK. The JJ/Schved combination will usually come in and leave at similar times while DC will play both to spell Love and also in a smaller line-up with Pek out and Love at the 5. Howard gets his 10 minutes a night in the absence of other options. In this scenario, Luke will actually not play a lot of point until Roy returns (or Redick, Dudley, Korver, Morrow, Bell, etc. arrive).

This is my guess - anyone else have any other ideas? I really like to try to guess how RA's "great basketball mind" machinates. The Unicorn is galloping up the hill and should be breaking the horizon any day - what will happen?
