The gang did a pretty good job of sharing Colorado music here when we last played the Nuggets. Feel free to expand upon that here if you are so inclined, but I have a different tack for this second Denver game. As I confessed in that post, I like John Denver, even if doing so costs me any tenuous membership in the Hip Music Cognescenti.
In fact, the first concert I ever went to was John Denver at the U of M's Northrup Auditorium. My dad took me as a 13th birthday present. Dad liked music, but I daresay this was the only concert he ever went to in his life - and Denver's music was neither here nor there to him. He was more of a Mario Lanza guy.
I don't recall much about the actual concert. Our seats were somewhere in the middle, the audience was very whitebread, and JD faithfully played his hits. Soon my tastes evolved and I was going with pals to see Springsteen and Seger and Muddy Waters and Elvis Costello, etc. Can't say I sneaked into a jazz club at age 12 and saw John Coltrane's last performance or something along those lines. It is what it is.
So - your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to share with us your first concert. Who was the act, who were you with, where was it, and what do you most remember about it?
