I was moved by a series of tweets that came from Ricky's brother, Marc, earlier today. They read almost like a poem, and I have included a Spanish-English translation below for anyone who isn't a Spanish speaker. One thing I have noticed is that Ricky has a really tightly-knit family and group of friends. I for one am very thankful that my favorite T-Wolf has support like this right here in Minneapolis. And right now, at a time when so many sad things have transpired in the world, it is nice to see such a public showing of love and respect for family. (See Marc Rubio's Twitter for Spanish version)
** Tweet Translation **
"The day has arrived,
I have spent much time at your side,
We have had good times and bad times,
But you have always had that smile on your face that so much identifies you as you.
This is something that makes you different,
If I had to write something sometime about overcoming difficulty,
The first word would be you.
I envy how you are,
The strength that you have.
I hope you know that this time you have left me with my jaw dropped open,
You have taken a long path, full of dunes that you have crossed without a single complaint.
One more time I am left without words to describe you.
All I can do is feel proud of YOU,
As a brother,
As a friend and as a person.
Now the moment has arrived that you have desired for so long,
And I have just one thing to tell you:
Open your wings and let yourself fly,
Fly like a bird and enjoy what you love most in this world."
