Smut and the CH Community - a plea

I love Canis Hoopus. Simply put, there is no better place to find intelligent Wolves conversation. The analysis, wit, passions and overall excellence are unrivaled. When conversation veers off topic, the overall tone remains one of serious and thoughtful engagement, even with differing viewpoints. To all who are reading this, thank you for providing that to me.

We at CH are an eclectic group - young and old, progressive and conservative, religious and irreligious, Minnesotan and non-Minnesotan, pro-Kahn and anti-Kahn, male and female, pre-KG and post-KG - all united in our love for meaningful, intelligent, impassioned discussion of all things Wolves.

That means that people like me (old, conservative, religious, non-Minnesotan, anti-Kahn, male, pre-KG) must tolerate a certain amount of vulgarity and sexual innuendo.

But it's my sense that these have seen a sharp rise of late. Profanity seems more common. Sexual references seem more common and more explicit. Perhaps the now infamous pic of a man and his car pushed me over the edge.

Fellow CHers, remember that this site is for all Wolves fans. Would you want your 12 year-old son reading some of that language or looking at some of those pictures (fyi: I don't have a 12 year-old son)? Because there are certainly young fans who visit this site - and we should want them here!

And besides the kids, there are some of us who view sex and speech as sacred - gifts from God to be used as He designed for great good. Though we understand that all won't share our convictions, we don't want to have to quit CH simply because the crass language/images rise to a certain level.

So here's my plea:

1) Unless you're manholeyup (sp?), please don't use explicit langauge.
2) Keep sexual innuendo as that - stay away from explicit language/descriptions.
3) Don't post images that border on pornographic.
4) Whoever moderates this site, please regain control of things - they seem to have spun out of hand.

I welcome dialogue on this, and I expect the occasional joke (I've set myself up, haven't I?). Thanks for taking the time to read this and consider my concerns.
