Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star forward Kevin Love will not make a trip to New York for Sunday’s game against the Knicks because an eye injury, the team announced on Saturday afternoon.
Details are limited, but the team said that Love suffered the eye injury in Thursday night's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Love remained in the game and finished with one of his most complete performances of the 2012-13 season, tallying 28 points to go with 11 rebounds and seven assists.
If Love misses any significant time it could be a devastating blow for the Timberwolves, who are currently one of the league's hottest teams. They have won five of their last seven games, and their win over Oklahoma City snapped the Thunder's 12-game winning streak. In the process, they have also moved into sixth place in the Western Conference standings and second overall in the Northwest Division.
Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman has yet to announce who'll start in Love's place Sunday.
