An early MN-Boston musical preview

Stay connected for news and updates

The obvious musical connection for Boston would be Irish music, however, I don't like Irish music. Actually any music that makes you want to get up and dance is almost certain to irritate me. And, surprisingly, there don't seem to be any prominent Irish bands connected to Boston (corrections sure to follow in the comments).

When talking about Boston and music, it would be easy to mention Boston.

Mission accomplished. I really don't see any reason to comment further.

Moving on, Aerosmith is hard to avoid.

The Pixies likewise cannot be ignored, especially if you're a dog lover.

After some deliberation, I'm skipping over J. Geils Band to include the oculistic stylings of Ric Ocasek and The Cars.

Morphine will always get the nod over Amanda Palmer & the Dresden Dolls in my book although both represent for Boston fairly well.

But if I was to pick a video to summarize Kevin Garnett, I'd pass on everyone in Boston and I'd go straight to Sun Ra.

Those of you who have already seen The Wizard of Oz while tripping your brains out can move on to the last video but first a brief exhortation:

Welcome to one of basketball's most venerated temples, a parqueted floor beneath our Pups feet no matter where they stand. Stand firm, young Pups, stand firm and don't let Rondo and Da former Kid push you around. Tonight is our night because:

(Russian subtitles in honor of Shved)

Go Wolves, beat Boston.
