Absurd!!! TWolves being described as a terrible team...

Yahoo.com sports writer for Ball Don't Lie, Kelly Dwyer, when referencing Kevin Love for the All-Star Reserve Team just described him as a good player on a TERRIBLE team!!!

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/judging-choices-western-conference-star-team-reserves-014925177.html;_ylt=Al_hKzojRibjKoejQnpGeX28vLYF

Now, I personally don't think the TWolves have a championship team this year but I also don't think our team is a terrible team as he described. A 13 - 13 record just proves how much the team has improved plus our record is better than 12 other teams in the league and far ahead of teams such as the Bobcats and the Hornets.

It just amazes me that people like him are able to actually keep a job when speaking so much nonsense!!!

Agreed.

Being 1 game out in the West means we are even above average to me. If we had the luxury of being an Eastern team, we may be the 4th seed right now.

I'm not so sure he was describing this year's team as terrible

I think he was trying to repeat the arguement of KLove detractors (right before refuting it), who have said he, “puts up big numbers on a terrible team”. Which is correct… Love has put up big numbers on a terrible team (last year), and it has been spouted numerous times. He just repeated all of the banana sandwich comments before stating “Kevin Love is a fantastic player…”

I think you totally misunderstood Dwyer's article.

He wasn’t actually saying that Love can’t create his own shot, can’t defend or that his numbers are the result of being the only good player on a terrible team. Quite the opposite. He’s basically saying Love should be starting the ASG, and he’s refuting those things we’ve heard about Love so often the past few years.

Dwyer has actually been pretty positive about the Wolves overall.

I agree

I found it to be a rather glowing commentary on KLove, and while he does make it sound like the pups are a terrible team, it’s more to emphasize the absurdity of any kinds of claims that he shouldn’t be in the asg. Not to mention, a 90 foot Kev to Blake alley-oop has me thinking I might want to actually watch this one.

No...

I think you deeply misunderstand Kelly Dwyer’s approach to writing. It works kind of like this: 1. Read sports rss feeds to see what is being discussed. 2. Look at stats off NBA.com. 3. If player has good stats, then write a few statements complementing that player while rewriting actual meat of story taken from elsewhere. 5. If team has David Kahn as a GM, insert tired, 2 year old joke about drafting too many point guards here. 6. Make sure that the post is snarky enough to keep getting traffic.

This fanpost is amusing mainly because no one in their right mind would go read anything Kelly Dwyer wrote if they were actually serious about following a team. The guy is (intentionally/unintentionally) a parody of how journalists have devolved into bad editorialists/color commentators. I read his stuff with the same mindset in which I read The Onion.

Whoops...

I didn't read the article

but the fact that we beat a full strength Kings team without our best player proves that we have at least a fair amount of compotent NBA players.

I’ll give anyone anyday the argument that it’s a mishmash of players that don’t all fit together….but there is a solid (and developing) core of good enough NBA players that are finally being coached by a good coach

I don't know what an art house is, I don't know what goes on in an art house, I have never been in an art house, and I can't imagine it's any place I ever want to be.

The question can know be

How did Deron Willams get selected playing for a 8-19 team ;)

I think this is the first time in history one man managed to destroy an entire city by himself. Even the Enola Gay had a flight crew.

Okay

If the Wolves are a bad team, Kevin Love is the best player in the league.

Kelly Dwyer is a solid columnist,

that has been “on the Wolves bandwagon” much longer than the rest of the media. He’s written a fair number of positive articles about us – and especially Love the last few years.

And he’s doing it again here.

I suspect...

You’re mistaking the Kelly Dwyer who blogs for Yahoo! with some other Kelly Dwyer.

So you’re kidding, right?

The whole post is basically complaining about something that is an absolute given, all the time, for a very long time. I keep meaning to delete my Yahoo sports rss feed as it’s generally just some blogger who I presume gets paid to directly lift material from other writers (including every Kahn joke ever conceived) and arrange it in the most douchy way possible. Dwyer was the guy who seemed to think that cracking wise about Kahn drafting 2 point guards was still funny and fresh about 4 months ago.

It's Alright!!!

I won’t deleted it because it helped me understand that I was wrong about it… there is no shame on in!
Thank you anyways!!!

Heh...

And it looks like Dwyer got punked by Love today. Sometimes, you shouldn’t write a long, rambling, rant based on a tweet from a guy who is just tweeting off a conversation he’s having with a source. When Dwyer isn’t “borrowing” from Strib writers, this is the sort of thing he writes.

Sounds to me like the sort of sarcastic joke that Love is famous for.

YEAH!!!!

I guess i truly misunderstood the meaning of the article…

Sorry about that guys…. but I guess that is why we all come to the posts here, to understand more about the game…

Thank you all for helping me understand and Sorry again for posting some I did not understand!

You're fired!

Kidding, of course. We all do that sometimes.

I'm going to brag. I drive the Nikola Pekovic fanwagon.

Kelly Dwyer is a massive D-Bag

Every article he ever writes that has any reference to the T-Wolves is always extremely negative. He doesn’t like us and I don’t know why.
