#FreeSteveNash trade proposal
No, I'm not bringing in Nash to mentor Ricky. Remember when people (including me) were entertaining that idea? Boy, that would have been a waste.
Nash goes to a contender (Portland), along with #makeitwayne.
Phoenix gets D-Will (an AZ fave) and Felton (a younger vet PG) in return.
Minnesota nets the coveted Batum and the still promising Robin Lopez.
Who says no (the Suns, because they're so damn stubborn, yah, yah, I know)?
I think there's no way the Wolves say no, Portland should do it in a heartbeat if they're serious about winning, and Phoenix is going to get boned in any Nash trade at this point, but this puts them in a favorable place going forward (Felton and D-Will, added to Gortat, Dudley, and Morris). We can add a pick (Utah's, perhaps), if need be.

I would go for that
Thought I would prefer a more physical defensive center who can rebound well. Both Lopezs have always seemed soft to me and unwilling to rotate and challenge shots.
We need a list of teams with a shittier PF than DWill....
..it should be a short list. I would live to work something out with PHX, but they already have their Morris twin.
I hope this stays sorted

Great minds think alike.
I posted almost that same trade here with a poll. The majority who answered the poll thought the Wolves were getting shafted, but I think it’s a good trade for us. Also, I wouldn’t mind swapping out Lopez for Gortat and Childress if the Suns are looking to save some money as they have been want to in the past.
If we could some how get Gortat too
instead of Lopez…maybe throwing a pick in there….I would be very interested
I don't know what an art house is, I don't know what goes on in an art house, I have never been in an art house, and I can't imagine it's any place I ever want to be.
Not a bad trade
Though I have the feeling a bit that D-Will’s value should be higher than Batum. He was a 2nd pick after all. Also, isn’t Batum a free agent very soon?
After this season...
Blazers opted not to extend him.

I usually don't comment on trades
but I like this one. It would of course contingent on a good health checkup on Batum, who seems perpetually injured.

other then twolves
and a few boston players steve nash is my fav all time player. i love this trade, portland (a team i guess i have a soft spot for) would be a contender, nash would get out of pheonix, and the wolves would get a good deal.

I would do it, yes
Portland is actually the team that I’m not sure about.
I've changed my sig. The Wolves are now like a reasonably decent meal.
There is no way
Portland would even trade Felton for Nash straight up.
Felton can’t shoot, can’t defend and the only year he was above average in assists was when he played for D’Antoni. He’s at best, a back-up PG. Portland would trade him for Luke Ridnour in a heartbeat.
Portland wants to win now. And Nash is 100x the player today that Felton will ever be. This year:
Felton: TS%: .454, eFG%: .405, AST%: 31.5, WS/48: .055
Nash: TS%: .632, eFG%: .600, AST%: 57.9, WS/48: .179
Using “non-advanced stats”:
Nash is scoring 15 points while shooting 55%/40%/86% with 6.7 assists per game.
Felton is scoring 10 points while shooting 537%/20%/82% with 10 assists per game.
And I'm 59
so I’ll go with a high performing youngster in Nash every time!
Ricky is lobbing at an Ooptimal level!
portland says no

Yeah we do...
Sorry guys, we’re not giving up Felton and Batum for a half year rental of Nash.
The smarter you are, the more likely you are to be tripping balls at any given moment.
/keep Batum/ /trade for Bogut/
Based on future value, you're absolutely right
I’m just a little stumped as to how they’re going to handle the Batum contract situation.
Also, I was under the impression that people kinda-sorta didn’t like Felton…
Anyway, I suppose the key to any #FreeSteveNash trade suggestion is finding a contender who’s entirely in that win-now mentality, and has an obvious hole at PG. That is quintessentially the Lakers…I just don’t like the notion of one the league’s most beloved players playing for a team I (and many) despise so much.
But here’s the scenario I can best work out on that front (incorporating the Wolves). I’m not crazy about 31-year old Pau and that contract, but I think he’s a strange “the grass will be much greener on your side” situation.
I only ever want the Wolves to draft 5th.
@BrettAhlgren
That would be awesome for the Wolves
But I doubt the Lakers part with Pau or Bynum until the Howard situation is resolved. They are still holding out hope for a mid-20s Howard vs. a late 30s Nash.
Also not sure if PHO does it. I worry that Williams is quickly transitioning from “#2 pick awesome upside franchise player” to “another one of those many anonymous athletic bigs like Jason Thompson”
