Monta Ellis: The Shooting Guard Solution?

As we all know Monta Ellis is a dynamic scorer and shooter and would be the solution to the Wolves shooting guard problems. However, not a lot of people have mentioned the possible acquisition of him. I was reading an article today and it said apparently the Wolves already inquired about Ellis before the 2011 draft.

* Minnesota was willing to talk about a package involving F Michael Beasley and C Nikola Pekovic in return for Ellis.

* The GSWs apparently asked to expand the deal to include the Timberwolves' No. 1 pick in last year's draft, which was 2nd overall and turned out to be Derrick Williams.

The sources say the Warriors didn't flat out say no to Minnesota, but wanted more.

I for one, would be reluctant to give up Pek, but the article later goes on to say that Pau Gasol could possibly be a solution to the Wolves problem. So I propose something along the lines this trade.

Wolves Receive: Monta Ellis and Matt Barnes.

Warriors Receive: Pau Gasol and Derrick Williams.

Lakers Receive: Michael Beasley, Utah's 1st round pick, Warriors 2013 1st round pick and Wes Johnson.

I think the Lakers would be the most reluctant for this trade, as it just has them stockpiling 1st rd picks (they already have 2 this year).

Tell me if you like this trade, and if not propose one of your own in the comments.

It 'fails' due to some money issues but I'm not in the position to figure that kind of stuff out. I have no idea if that could be fixed (I optimistically think so).
