I think we should all give a big shoutout to Derrick Williams for having a great attitude and representing the Wolves in a positive way.
I imagine it must be a little hard for him once in a while. It is like being the middle child with a precocious prodigy baby brother in Rubio, and a superstar big brother in Love, filling the position Williams would normally be in.
Not that he lacks in talent, but he is still a rookie. Something Rubio is actually not. So it is probably hard to be compared to Rubio and have Rubio get all the interviews and highlights.
But I know it is just a matter of time for Mr. Williams. Being a rookie is hard. And Derrick is going to have a long illustrious career in the NBA. You can see the talent oozing out of him. He will be a star.
I saw the dunk match. And that is a tough thing to do. I would not want to be on that big of a stage. And the crowd is murder too. But even though DThrill didn't win it, and even suffered some rude slings and arrows on twitter, he still handled himself like a pro.
In all the post-match interviews he was really positive and just said it was a great weekend and a great experience. He doesn't seem to be taking it too hard, or too seriously. And I think that is really good.
Good on you Thrill! You'll get 'em next year! Wolves Nation got your back!
