Pekovic's unique rebounding skills
In the history of the entire NBA, Pekovic's rebounding skills are truly unique. No one else has been so much better at offensive rebounding and so much weaker at defensive rebounding than him - and been good enough at other stuff to actually play 15 mpg consistently.

How interesting
Hell, look at this. You talk about elite company!
T'Wolves 2012: Fear the Peksecutioner!
One theory on the defensive rebounding...
Maybe his defensive rebound rate is relatively low because he lets other guys (such as K-Love) get these boards. As long as he boxes out his man, it doesn’t matter so much who actually grabs the ball. What do you guys think?
So does ORB% of 19.2 mean that
Pek gets 19.2% of all rebounding opportunities on the offensive end?
I've got good judgement from experience and experience from bad judgement.
Basically, yeah
It means that nearly a fifth of the time a rebounding opportunity occurred on the opposition’s basket, Pekovic got it.

To put that in perspective,
per your link above, if Pek keeps it up for the rest of the year he’ll be eighth all time since they’ve kept rebounding stats. Amazing.

It really is
He’s even the most efficient scorer and best free throw shooter of that group. Not that I’m in any way suggesting that Pek is even close to Moses Malone, but Pek’s .645 TS on a usage rate of plus 20% is very nice indeed.

(for kicks, sort it by ORB% or eEFG%)

which is approximately double the averager player...
although a little less than double for an interior player. Anyone ever run front court rebounding % stats to correct for skews in data due to having an exceptional rebounder on the floor? I would think that including that component would be an interesting comparison among teams over the course of the year. Probably a C and PF combo as well as a C, PF and SF combo.
If you add in the scoring efficiency stats and +/- over a long enough time, you should be able to spot the lineups with the best overall synergies pretty quickly.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
If that doesn't work, cheat.
