2012 NBA Rumor/Happenings Thread
There is a lot of hubbub going on daily in the NBA and I think this could become a fun thread to discuss other things everyone is hearing daily in the NBA. Please keep it civil. Extra words are fun to fill in the minimum. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah.
I know it's fun to think of "What Ifs" as well but this will be more of a post for actual bits instead of hypotheticals.
Go.

Rondo for Gasol is the most recent.
Not sure why Boston makes this trade. Do they even have anyone to play PG? Can KG do it?
Avery Bradley maybe they get Steve Blake out of the deal.
Trading away the youngest member of the big 4 for another older player?
Boston won't do it
Last I heard Boston was trying to get rid of their older players and become a younger team with Rondo as the center piece…
The league is full of younger teams and Boston needs to follow or they will be left behind again.
Makes no sense to get rid of Rondo
Unless they view him as the piece to replace Pierce/KG/Ray with more players.
heh while I detest the Knicks
I expect that Jeremy Lin will allow them to avoid possibly their biggest mistake in the past 5 years.
Chris Paul got in a fight with his agent,
And replaced him with Bob Loblaw

Did you read about that
on Bob Loblaw’s law blog?
Gary, you didn't kill your brother. Those gorillas did.
J.R. Smith
There is a big rumor going around on the NBA that the TWolves are in the mix to get J.R. Smith once his contract if done in China…
Who is better fitted for the TWolves between Smith and Mayo?
Depends on what we offer for a contract
I would like to see Smith in a TWolves uniform.
Mayo is a RFA next year so will probably cost too much, his Qualifying offer is like $7mil. If we could pay him $6mil/year I think it’d be a great deal
Smith made $6.7mil last year. Honestly, I think whoever is cheaper is the better option as they both have some reputation problems.
I don't think 2 years makes much difference. Either guy is still going to be in their primes when their next contracts ends.
JR is a better player than Mayo across the board, it just depends on if Adelman wants to take on another potential knucklehead (he’s had success with them in the past).
