Dude is a Darth, man.
He could choke you out with the Force. You shouldn’t risk it.
The Rubio with his passing, I say nothing because it's crazy! As we enjoy!
That reminds me

Crap, Jason
I was expecting something rude and you linked to cute.
You really should have warned me.
Yo ho ho and a FirstRow stream!
I like to mix it up now and then.

Hey SnP
Is the fanpost issue (only recommended ones showing on the front page) intentional, or a glitch?
I have a bad feeling about tonight. This has beat down written all over it.
I've changed my sig. The Wolves are now like a reasonably decent meal.
I'm nervous, too...
It’s a trap game. We’ve won 4 in a row. They’ve lost 3 in a row. We played last night.
We’ll see. I think Luke has a good game.
Usually...
…when Luke has a good game we lose. He seems to only get hot when everyone else is sucking.
Yes. Beatdown...
Umm.. You mean us beating them down? Cause that is happening. I put my money on it!

Where is the KLove?
So, just because I’m curious and didn’t see the last match. Is Love next or behind the bench during the suspension or is he not even allowed to do that?
At home
Can’t be in the arena.

Theoretically

Beasley and DWill starting?
ESPN fantasy basketball seems to think both Beasley and DWill are starting. Does that mean Wes was finally benched?
by Timberwolf in LA on Feb 8, 2012 6:47 PM CST reply actions
Ah
That would make sense — no rumblings from Adelman about any imminent changes — but I wasn’t sure. ESPN is often wrong (both in this sense and in the sense of their pundits not knowing what the hell they’re talking about)

They have last nights lineup. I haven't seen anything official.
I’d like to see Beasley in the starting lineup. Points may be hard to come by tonight.
Not if they just keep feeding Pek.
He either scores or gets fouled. Or both.

For posterity...
…last year on Feb 8th we won our 13th game (13-39). We won our 14th on Feb 27th to get to 14-46.
In 2010 we had 13 wins on Feb 8th (13-38) and won our 14th on Feb 23rd to get to 14-44.
This is better.

This could be an ugly game
Memphis isn’t exactly the most graceful offensive unit but they know how to defend. Given our inability to hit open shots….ugh.
Tony Allen just gives us such pain.
An elite perimeter defender. Not bad to have starting.

I don't know much,
but whenever Beasley gets a rebound it seems to almost get stolen, or actually get stolen. Shouldn’t he do the grab the ball tight bit? Elbows out? What is his problem? Why is he so casual all the time? Stop looking cool and start trying!
Well, he likes to bite it; maybe that will work.
"I'm shocked - shocked - to find basketball going on in here."
I am stunned to see you raking Beasley over the coals, here.
It’s so unprecedented.
The Rubio with his passing, I say nothing because it's crazy! As we enjoy!
It has stood out to me but I could be wrong.
I saw it last game too. He grabs it and then sort of stands there casually with one hand on it. Then a guy comes and takes it.
I guess I am being too hard on him but this is just one of those things that is so easy to do and he doesn’t do it over and over. It really frustrates me. He could be so good if he just did these little fundamental things.
The very next play he skied for a board and grabbed it with two hands.

Really nice for him.
I've changed my sig. The Wolves are now like a reasonably decent meal.
we've gotta
find a consistent role for him when Love is back in the lineup,
Is that role
as the centerpiece in a Stephen Curry trade?
by googoleeoottooooleeoottooooleeeatta on Feb 8, 2012 7:31 PM CST up reply actions
idk
I like him, and he’s producing when he gets minutes (so this doesn’t feel like Flynn or Wes, he can play) I just don’t know where he fits with Love.
exactly i wish he could play more, but the wolves have ot many decent players righ tnow
hard to get everyone mins. and rather than having a decent player sit the bench, should probably package a few for a 1 good player or draft picks.
not saying starting
and his D is a work in progress, but he’s a talented creator on offense, and playing him for 5 minutes in a game is just jerking him around.
(Someone pay for Derrick Williams's grandpa to travel with the team, then.)
"First, I'd like to blame the Lord for causing us to lose today."
He was good last night, too.
I’d venture to say he’s making a case for more minutes once Love is back. His jumpshot is kind of broke and everything looks really ugly, but he seems pretty effective. He is determined to take it to the hoop, which is nice to see, and can draw fouls and rebound pretty well.
gotta improve the foul shooting

Beas could maybe look at how D-Will is making his offensive game function despite a broken shot.
"First, I'd like to blame the Lord for causing us to lose today."
bad bad quarter..
1) stupid turnover
2) Beasley reverting to bad offensive decisions
3) 2 poor Webster defensive plays in 2 minutes
4) Pek and Rubio having trouble with the way Memphis is cheating the PnR towards Pek
5) Pek having trouble with the double team
6) Luke killing us on the offensive end
7) DWill having a reasonable game
8) Gasol with 3 fouls and unable to take advantage
9) Poindexter shooting well beyond his norm
I was hoping Pek would get Gasol in early foul trouble . . .
I didn’t expect that Gasol would get in early foul trouble without much help from Pek. (Great D by Pek so far, though).

Martell Webster really likes to spin with the ball.
Sign you have a “bad Beasley” night going on: He brings the ball all the way up himself.

Bad Beasley:
He keeps the ball low for the defenders to take it.
Martell looks like a world-beater when he drives...

"I'm shocked - shocked - to find basketball going on in here."
Yup. Too bad. Smart dude, nice fellow, but needs to get it back, or go.
"I'm shocked - shocked - to find basketball going on in here."
Yes, AT gives up tons of boards and has no shot this year
He looks like a different player this season
I've got good judgement from experience and experience from bad judgement.
Might as well lose the tap if it's going to Randolph. STUPID!
I'm going to brag. I drive the Nikola Pekovic fanwagon.

When we're forced ot play AT, AR, and Miller for over 30 minutes....
…yuck.
"You know you're getting the silver medal, right?" Ricky to Kobe
Still not over...
but we got to play perfect here
I don't mind losing due to fatigue,
but losing because of stupidity really frosts my ass.

down 56-43 on the glass
Rebounding is defense also!

As much as it may not seem like it..
it’s probably more the former than the latter. Players don’t randomly get stupid, but they do get tired.
Second night of a back-to-back, on the road against a playoff team, with no Kevin Love. And we’re surprised?
I say the CH community pile up all our funds and buy this team
We cant do much worse
If I win the lottery I will buy the team and use CH as my GM by proxy
I've got good judgement from experience and experience from bad judgement.
Yes, though I only need controlling interest

what bugs me about beasley
is the lethargic affect. never seems to hustle. always walks. never adds energy to the team flow. looks bored. never is in motion to gain position and be ready to get the ball on the cut. never is encouraging his teammates on. etc., etc.

Agree
The offense comes to a halt when he is in the game
If we only had Reggie Miller for these last two minutes
October 21, 1990 The Best Day in Minnesota Timberwolves History
We certainly don't want Pek in there.
Defending Gasol would be dumb.
I'm going to brag. I drive the Nikola Pekovic fanwagon.
Not sure if the strategy was to leave the lane open or not
Probably should try something else
Wes just yawned in the huddle
I’d be pissed but I don’t care what he does anymore
last to games have shown the KL dependence of the team
yesterday we were lucky, but today we got exposed
Unicorns do exists, on wolves skin.
I love Adelman,
but he fucked this game up in a big way.
I'm going to brag. I drive the Nikola Pekovic fanwagon.
+1 - weird rotations when Gasol was on the bench.
"I'm shocked - shocked - to find basketball going on in here."
Yeah
Memphis has been almost as listless as the Wolves down the stretch. I’m concerned about fatigue for these guys and I understand he needs to lay off a little now and then, but I’m not sure full-blown concession mode was the way to go.
That said, Rubio had a bad game. Not sure why Pek’s got the jacket on,
what's with all the haters?
No Love, Ricky’s off game… considering we’ve done at least decently. Nobody’s ever thought we had stars other than Rubio and KLove. First bad game in a while.

guys.. enough with the silver lining stuff... it's not that we lost.. most of us expected to lose
It’s the way we lost.. this was terrible

it's not silver lining stuff...
it’s reality. You expected maybe the guys that have been routinely panned on here to perform like stars?
by dwb on Feb 8, 2012 9:10 PM CST up reply actions
bsg.. this isn't silver lining.. there was nothing good to take away from this obviously..
but if you think any team isn’t going to have nights like this you’re wrong.. and we’re .500.
good teams Love To don't play like this..
my concern isn’t about this game necessarily, but I don’t want this sort of play becoming a trend. We beat Sacramento, but played like this much of that game. We probably should have lost that game. I’m just looking to the future. My concerns are RA’s rotations, effort, the mindset of players like Beasley, the lack of offensive flow, etc.
We're not a "good" team in the sense that we aren't going to have bad nights
We’re a young exciting team that will have growing pains. This was one. We didn’t have our best player, and our second best player got shut down.
Adelman couldn’t have come up with a rotation that could have kept us in this game. The talent level with no Love and essentially no Rubio isn’t close to high enough. I’d also be careful thinking you know much about their “effort.” They’re probably fatigued, and that happens. They also just couldn’t shoot.
The mindset of players like Beasley (and Randolph) isn’t worth worrying about because they are who they are. And they aren’t worth keeping around. The players that will join Rubio and Love in the future aren’t on the team right now. Those two and probably Pek are the only ones worrying about if you’re thinking “future.”

Dont mind losing games
But when we play like this its really frustrating
Refs want it over. 2 offensive fouls committed on Barea by the point; they let it go.
"I'm shocked - shocked - to find basketball going on in here."
he went to the KLove school of foul drawing
gotta lear to wrap his arm around other peopl when rebounding and toss his head back still (while also securing the ball)
We have fewer TOs and have a better shooting %
"You know you're getting the silver medal, right?" Ricky to Kobe
Wish we had a guy who was good at those things :)
"You know you're getting the silver medal, right?" Ricky to Kobe
Why the fuck in Randolph in
Adelman definitely fucked up, and Kahn is going to look to get rid fo him somehow
Wonder why Ricky always plays so poorly against his buddies...
also i hate watching us play the Grizz… just ugly
He is absolutely horrible
and is detrimental to a five player squad. So is Luke when he is not hitting more than half his shots.
adelman's choice
if he rested his starters following popovich mantra if you’re going to lose a game at least rest those legs, i get it.
if he tried to win with that second unit, it was a horrible mistake. barea was the best and he played bad defense and seemed like the one eyed man in the land of the blind on offense.
still 1-1 without love, you take it everytime.
Beas with the F you 3 pointer

Smart play by Beasley!!!
"David Kahn doesn't like it, so I'm going to keep it." - Kevin Love on growing his beard.
Basically a practice 3 from Beas.
Final score not bad considering how badly we played. Things look good for Love’s return.

Well, that's the way it goes sometimes
I’ll let this one go fairly easily. There are nights it just doesn’t happen for you. Outside of maybe Barea, nobody was any good tonight.
I've changed my sig. The Wolves are now like a reasonably decent meal.

aliens have taken over beasley

Welp. That was disappointing.
Just a bad game all around. But I do feel we’ll come back better against Dallas. Expect a big game Friday. Good night everyone.

Same here.
I fully expected that this one would be a loss, and I am still pissed about it. I do think they’ll come back strong this weekend, though.
I think this is just so frustrating because Memphis didn’t play great either, and I think we win this one with Love. And since this is a team so close to us in the standings, that’s a big deal.
IMO...
Ellington should be starting at the 2 instead of Luke. He plays physical D, is 4 inches taller, and can knock down shots. Luke was killed by Quincy P tonight.
The "knock down shots" part seems to be a problem for nearly all our guards and wings, including Wayne

You see
I think Webster is the guy that hasn’t had a chance to get into a flow. He at least has a track record of competent play. Really surprised Adelman has put him on a short leash.

Webster
Plays out of control…turns the ball over too much, can’t make a lay-up, and hasn’t found his shot. I do like his attitude, though.
Agree
He’s been a bit of a wreck out there, but the guy will eventually settle in if given the minutes. Again, he actually has a decent career track record, as opposed to Wes, who has accomplished next to nothing despite being gifted a starting job for two seasons now.
