Hey SnP

Is the fanpost issue (only recommended ones showing on the front page) intentional, or a glitch?

I have a bad feeling about tonight. This has beat down written all over it.

I've changed my sig. The Wolves are now like a reasonably decent meal.

by Eric in Madison on Feb 8, 2012 6:40 PM CST reply actions

I'm nervous, too...

It’s a trap game. We’ve won 4 in a row. They’ve lost 3 in a row. We played last night.

We’ll see. I think Luke has a good game.

by AgentDisco on Feb 8, 2012 6:52 PM CST up reply actions

Usually...

…when Luke has a good game we lose. He seems to only get hot when everyone else is sucking.

by Uff-Da on Feb 8, 2012 7:00 PM CST up reply actions

Yes. Beatdown...

Umm.. You mean us beating them down? Cause that is happening. I put my money on it!

by bringbackbrewer on Feb 8, 2012 6:53 PM CST up reply actions

Where is the KLove?

So, just because I’m curious and didn’t see the last match. Is Love next or behind the bench during the suspension or is he not even allowed to do that?

by AgentDisco on Feb 8, 2012 6:44 PM CST reply actions

Theoretically

could he buy tickets?

Could he have purchased courtside seats last night and watched in a Rubio jersey hammered-drunk?

Beasley and DWill starting?

ESPN fantasy basketball seems to think both Beasley and DWill are starting. Does that mean Wes was finally benched?

by Timberwolf in LA on Feb 8, 2012 6:47 PM CST reply actions

Ah

That would make sense — no rumblings from Adelman about any imminent changes — but I wasn’t sure. ESPN is often wrong (both in this sense and in the sense of their pundits not knowing what the hell they’re talking about)

by Timberwolf in LA on Feb 8, 2012 6:53 PM CST up reply actions

They have last nights lineup. I haven't seen anything official.

I’d like to see Beasley in the starting lineup. Points may be hard to come by tonight.

For posterity...

…last year on Feb 8th we won our 13th game (13-39). We won our 14th on Feb 27th to get to 14-46.
In 2010 we had 13 wins on Feb 8th (13-38) and won our 14th on Feb 23rd to get to 14-44.

This is better.

It has stood out to me but I could be wrong.

I saw it last game too. He grabs it and then sort of stands there casually with one hand on it. Then a guy comes and takes it.
I guess I am being too hard on him but this is just one of those things that is so easy to do and he doesn’t do it over and over. It really frustrates me. He could be so good if he just did these little fundamental things.

I’d venture to say he’s making a case for more minutes once Love is back. His jumpshot is kind of broke and everything looks really ugly, but he seems pretty effective. He is determined to take it to the hoop, which is nice to see, and can draw fouls and rebound pretty well.

I watched a little today to see what the deal with Lin is..

first, i noticed that he loves playing. He was smiling the entire game. Second, he’s like Rubio and Nash in that he doesn’t pick up his dribble. Third, he sees the court pretty well. Fourth, he plays hard. Fifth, he plays very smart. Sixth, he knows his limitations.

by LoveTo on Feb 8, 2012 9:10 PM CST up reply actions

good teams Love To don't play like this..

my concern isn’t about this game necessarily, but I don’t want this sort of play becoming a trend. We beat Sacramento, but played like this much of that game. We probably should have lost that game. I’m just looking to the future. My concerns are RA’s rotations, effort, the mindset of players like Beasley, the lack of offensive flow, etc.

by bsg007 on Feb 8, 2012 9:12 PM CST up reply actions

We're not a "good" team in the sense that we aren't going to have bad nights

We’re a young exciting team that will have growing pains. This was one. We didn’t have our best player, and our second best player got shut down.

Adelman couldn’t have come up with a rotation that could have kept us in this game. The talent level with no Love and essentially no Rubio isn’t close to high enough. I’d also be careful thinking you know much about their “effort.” They’re probably fatigued, and that happens. They also just couldn’t shoot.

The mindset of players like Beasley (and Randolph) isn’t worth worrying about because they are who they are. And they aren’t worth keeping around. The players that will join Rubio and Love in the future aren’t on the team right now. Those two and probably Pek are the only ones worrying about if you’re thinking “future.”

He is absolutely horrible

and is detrimental to a five player squad. So is Luke when he is not hitting more than half his shots.

adelman's choice

if he rested his starters following popovich mantra if you’re going to lose a game at least rest those legs, i get it.

if he tried to win with that second unit, it was a horrible mistake. barea was the best and he played bad defense and seemed like the one eyed man in the land of the blind on offense.

still 1-1 without love, you take it everytime.

Smart play by Beasley!!!

by GWST11 on Feb 8, 2012 9:13 PM CST reply actions

Basically a practice 3 from Beas.

Final score not bad considering how badly we played. Things look good for Love’s return.

by Imyourhuckleberry on Feb 8, 2012 9:13 PM CST reply actions

Well, that's the way it goes sometimes

I’ll let this one go fairly easily. There are nights it just doesn’t happen for you. Outside of maybe Barea, nobody was any good tonight.

I've changed my sig. The Wolves are now like a reasonably decent meal.

Especially a bad night for Adelman.

Rotations were ridiculous.

I think he understood early that their stuff wasn't working and just starting throwing some things out there

trying to find something to work.

Not really

Yup.

Adelman sold out for the first win, and then basically conceded this one down the stretch. Splitting two without Love isn’t anything to rage over.

and still the way we lost this game has me chewing nails. So stupid!

by Cynical Jason on Feb 8, 2012 9:20 PM CST up reply actions

Same here.

I fully expected that this one would be a loss, and I am still pissed about it. I do think they’ll come back strong this weekend, though.

I think this is just so frustrating because Memphis didn’t play great either, and I think we win this one with Love. And since this is a team so close to us in the standings, that’s a big deal.

by MNHawkeye on Feb 8, 2012 9:39 PM CST up reply actions

IMO...

Ellington should be starting at the 2 instead of Luke. He plays physical D, is 4 inches taller, and can knock down shots. Luke was killed by Quincy P tonight.

by LAWolf on Feb 8, 2012 9:19 PM CST reply actions

You see

I think Webster is the guy that hasn’t had a chance to get into a flow. He at least has a track record of competent play. Really surprised Adelman has put him on a short leash.

by Rascal Flatts on Feb 8, 2012 9:24 PM CST up reply actions   1 recs

Webster

Plays out of control…turns the ball over too much, can’t make a lay-up, and hasn’t found his shot. I do like his attitude, though.

by LAWolf on Feb 8, 2012 9:27 PM CST up reply actions

Agree

He’s been a bit of a wreck out there, but the guy will eventually settle in if given the minutes. Again, he actually has a decent career track record, as opposed to Wes, who has accomplished next to nothing despite being gifted a starting job for two seasons now.

by Rascal Flatts on Feb 8, 2012 9:31 PM CST up reply actions

I should be starting at the two before Luke.

Oh well

Memphis was beatable and then some, but the Wolves just too listless.

by jianfu on Feb 8, 2012 9:24 PM CST reply actions

Yup

We can talk all we want about missing Love, but they were missing Randolph and Allen, two of their best players.

by Rascal Flatts on Feb 8, 2012 9:25 PM CST up reply actions

And they played almost as poorly as the Wolves

Memphis basically won on second-chance points.

by jianfu on Feb 8, 2012 9:27 PM CST up reply actions

Not that there's anything wrong with that

but outside of that, everything was pretty bad from both sides.
