So many mixed feelings going into the Lakers game
The Suns have just beaten the Mavericks! I am finding myself cheering for certain teams that are beating other certain teams. This week I am a huge fan of the Cavs, Wizards, Raptor, and Nets. I am very disappointed in the Knicks who are not living up to their expectations. The Knicks lost to the Spurs and Mavericks in two days. They my friends are not the T-Wolves.
Say it with me “Go East”!!!!!
It is a great feeling that we are 3 1/2 games behind the Grizzlies (3rd place in the West). It is a great feeling that we are the 8th seed but I am finding myself wanting more. I want my team to beat the Lakers. The Wolves need to move up the food chain. They need to end the 17 in a row streak of losing to the Lakers. But most importantly, they need to end this curse. The Lakers are to the Timberwolves as the Yankees are to the Twins.
Kobe is going to come out shooting and I am worried that he is going make his shots this Friday night and snap out of his slump. (50% shooting last two games) He seems to do that to the Wolves. The last game against us he scored 31 in LA and back in January he came to Minny and scored 35. Plus those last two games against the Lakers, the Lakers were playing us after a loss just like this Friday night. I don’t know if he just hates the Wolves or if the Wolves are just unlucky to have to take on the Black Mamba when he needs to step up his game to save face. I do know that I am hoping his slump continues at 30% shooting. If that happens I assume we will win. Someone else can point out why that is.
If we can win this game and the one next week against the Lakers in LA, I feel that we will be breaking the curse of the 04 playoff series that has seemed to send this team into a downward spiral. The problem to me this year is that every time the Wolves play the Lakers it seems to be a game that if the Wolves win it, it will be a turning point for this franchise. The two losses to the Lakers seem to be defining moments for this franchise this year. If we would have won both games then the Wolves and Lakers would have swapped records. (Almost, Lakers would have same wins, one less loss)
Either way, this is an exciting time to be a Wolves fan. Not only do we get to cheer on our Wolves, now we can start cheering for the teams playing seeds 1-7 in the West. Also, I think it is time to cheer on Kobe’s slump. My wife would not like that because “it temps the evil eye” but come on, look at his numbers against the Wolves, he hates us!
