It's the most wonderful time of the year

Spoiler alert- this post brings nothing new to the table.

Like many NBA fans I love the trade deadline. One of the more exciting things about the NBA, in my opinion, is the existence of crazy trades. Watching from afar as Don Nelson approaches his franchise du jour with seemingly less reservation than most of us have in regards to our abysmal fantasy teams has become an important rite of springtime.

So what's the hold up? Is everyone waiting for the Dwight chip to fall? Is the new CBA more complicated than a pregnant woman on her sisters wedding day? Am I simply remembering many years worth of collective trades as a yearly occurrence the way many of us remember our childhood winters? I for one am ready for a blockbuster.

That said, I have decided that outside of a clear win for our beloved Wolves along the line of Beasley and a pick for James Harden (ie- not gonna happen) my preference is that the Wolves stay out of the spotlight.

Here is a link to one of the many silly NBA sites that I suspect many of of frequent this time of the year.

This article suggests many of the same things we have all heard over and over again. Today has been especially high in Gasol speculation. Methinks that the elusive third team angle is the way to go.

The Rockets want Gasol, the Lakers want Beasley and I want us to want Courtney Lee. It seems highly unlikely that two of our western conference foes conspire to allow us to get better so easily but a fellow can dream can he not.

So... what do you think is going to happen? Do you love this time of year as much as I do?
