I am an avid NBA fan and a fan of text sims. With all of the amazingly constant flow of speculation around here(which I love) I figured I would see if I could get what all of us are asking for, mainly two wings and a defensive center. To do this I used Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 3. A long running text sim which is up to date and works pretty well. More below the fold...

I will admit that I did not start with this off season but last off season(before the lockout). I will post how I did what I did later but for now lets look at the results.

So breakdown? I went 71-11 in this coming season.

Roster

PG Rubio/Lee/Smith

SG Gordon/Thompson/Lee

SF Batum/Thompson

PF Love/Pek/Biyombo

C Pek/Valenciunas/Biyombo

How did I do this? Well first off I shipped off pretty much everyone cept Rubio/Love/Pek/Lee. My main goal was to get as much cap space as possible. Both Gordon and Batum were restricted and I had to offer max so that the other teams wouldn't match. That gives us 3 max players and I have no idea what I will do when I need to resign Pek this off season and Rubio later because even in this game Taylor is a cheap ass. To get rid of Darko I gave up a future 1st(they dont have amnesty). I traded Randolph and Barea for 2nd rounders. I renounced everyone else. If you would like exact details I could give them. I think I overacheived with the record but I also lost in the finals to Dhoward/Joe Johnson/R Anderson/Calderon/ Harrington on the Magic.

I hope this is a little interesting. I might run a few more sims to see how I could form the team different.
