No More Numbers: A Summary of My Draft Research (Now with Poll!)

I've been bombarding the site with numbers over the last few days. I thought it would be fun to summarize (very, very qualitatively) what I think after doing all of that.

The All-"Can't-Have-Them" Team:

PG: Damian Lillard

SG: Bradley Beal

SF: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

PF: Anthony Davis

C: Tyler Zeller

The Wolves should NOT trade up in this draft. Anthony Davis is unattainable, and no one else is worth it compared to what we can get at 18.

The All-"Stay-The-Hell-Away" Team:

PG: Marquis Teague

SG: Austin Rivers

SF: Harrison Barnes

PF: Perry Jones III

C: Andre Drummond

As much as I harp on Harrison Barnes being overrated, he's probably the best of this bunch.

Favorite players who may be available at the 18th pick:

SG: Will Barton, Terrence Ross, Dion Waiters*

SF: Jae Crowder, Terrence Jones**

* I'm worried about his performance against good teams

** I'm worried about reported issues with his motor

I don't expect the Wolves to take Barton or Crowder here, but they should. Ross, Waiters, and Jones may all be off the board, though.

Worth a look if we trade down from 18:

SG: Orlando Johnson, John Jenkins, Jared Cunningham

SF: Jeff Taylor, Moe Harkless, Quincy Miller

PF: Royce White, Drew Gordon

C: Festus Ezeli, Meyers Leonard*, Fab Melo*, Kyle O'Quinn, Andrew Nicholson

* Probably gone if we trade down, but you never know.

Lots of tall guys to pick from here, plus some depth at the wing positions. I think we'd get great value from trading down from 18 to get two picks in the late first and early second round (where we may still be able to get Barton and/or Crowder).

Targets for the 58th pick:

SG: Marcus Denmon, Kim English

C: Bernard James

It's hard to say who makes it all the way to 58, but any of these guys would be well worth the pick.
