The title of this fanshot is taken from the end of Tim Allen's funeral service. The Timberwolves Chaplain, the Rev. Columbus Smith closed the service by saying "1-2-3" and hundreds of people responded with a resounding "GO TIMBERWOLVES!"
Wow. Just wow.
I have no idea how many CHers were present, but SnP, Wyn, Jim Peterson, MPR's Bob Collins and many others were in attendance. The majority of the large turnout was relatives and Findlaw coworkers. It was touching to learn how much of an impact Tim had on those who worked with him.
I met his dad, a very nice guy, Tish, the love of his life, and listened to his mom speak. There was a lot of love in that family and a lot of love in that room for Tim. I did not see anyone checking their phone for Spain-Russia updates, although I asked one guy looking at his phone if he knew the score (yes, I was that jerk).
The testimonials from the audience were moving and frequently funny. There was an enormous consistency in those remarks, and the stories Tim's family told. The Tim we knew here at Canis Hoopus was the same Tim his Ultimate League friends competed with, and the same Tim his Findlaw coworkers knew.
Not being a phone guy, I wish I'd brought my camera so I could have taken a picture of the huge flower arrangement SB Nation sent. I hope SnP has more to say about that later.
It was an appropriate send off for a man who will be missed by his readers, coworkers, friends and family.
