Suns banking on Johnson, BeasleyThe new-look Phoenix Suns feature a turned over roster that could have the team contending for one of the last seeds in the playoffs next season, but while the additions of guys like Luis Scola and Goran Dragic received high marks across the board, the same can't be said for newcomers Wesley Johnson and Michael Beasley. Neither Johnson, the No. 4 pick in 2010, or Beasley, the No. 2 pick in 2008, have lived up to the mighty expectations that came with being drafted so high, and ESPN Insider contributor Neil Payne points out that 2012-13 could be a make-or-break season for both of them. Johnson took a step backwards in his second pro season, shooting under 40 percent from the field and averaging just 6 points a game for the Timberwolves. Beasley, the more proven of the two, averaged 11.5 points and 4.4 rebounds last season in Minnesota.
