Happy Friday! Another week has passed and this one was pretty slow.Kevin Love will be surprised if we don't make the playoffs this year. I think that I can safely speak for most Wolves fans this year that we will be surprised when we do finally make the playoffs after years of futility.
The mysterious new owner prospect may not be who Glenn Taylor said it would be after all (who the hell is it, anyway?). The plan now involves three potential prospects with the idea that the franchise is to stay put in MN. I think the plan should also stipulate no "Joe Smith type deals" either.
Klawitter continues his excellent "From 1 to 35,535" series with an entry on Myron Brown. What he doesn't mention is that Bill Musselman was friends with Slippery Rock coach Ole "Vic" Pakkoin and made a secret deal that the Wolves would draft Brown in the 2nd round if he was available. Musselman was of course fired after the '90 season and the top brass were stuck either honoring the deal or facing the humility and ramifications of an illegal deal. So they drafted Myron Brown even though they wanted other PA standout Mike Iuzzolino. I kid! I kid! Ole "Vic" Pakkoin is another Anna Graham for Nikola Pekovic! Mike Iuzzolino is real though, I swear! He also ended up being a teammate of none other than Myron Brown in the Italian league of all things.
Well that wraps up this weeks edition. Have a great weekend!
