If I have learned one thing from reading CH over the years, it is to respect a player's career body of work far more than what they've done recently.
Remember when Courtney Lee was a major disappointment for the Celtics due to shooting .421 (.182 on threes) in November? He was way below his career numbers despite being a youngish player.
I'd imagine if Kahn had called after a particularly disheartening loss Danny might have agreed to a deal. He seemed like a guy the Wolves really needed and could have acquired for a reasonable price. Lee had played and thrived in Adelman's system before.
Now, in January, Lee is shooting .500 (.407 on threes). For the year he is at .473/.342 which would be quite good compared to the Wolves other options. Sadly, guys like Simmons are now talking about how Lee deserves more minutes because Terry has a bad case of the olds and Bradley has struggled shooting this year.
Sigh.
