What's more important:
- Grammar and sentence structure
- Voice
Which one is it? Or, perhaps, are they of equal importance?
Because the vast commentariat at CH ranges from semi-pro bloggers to English teachers to amateur posters, I figured this is as good a place as any to pose the above question.
Before anyone gives their answer, let me finish this off by stating that I find one's voice to be the more valuable quality when it comes to writing style. Grammar is important, sure; however, the most technically sound writing in the world will go ignored by the masses if it doesn't catch their eye.
That's my opinion at least ... what's yours?
P.S.: I'm also interested to hear what you guys feel about prose vs. poetry. I, of course, am pro-prose and anti-poetry, which I feel is an antiquated, outdated writing style.
