Canis Music - Band Advice

Since moving back to the Twin Cities, aside from writing for Canis, the other highlight of my move has been joining a rock band.

We're pretty serious about this project, and want to start playing venues eventually, once we get some stuff recorded. We're still learning how to record demos properly, so the ones we have uploaded to Soundcloud don't sound too stellar yet, but we are working on it as time passes. The second and most recent song we posted sounds infinitely better than the first, and we're hoping that trend continues.

We've been a band for 3-4 months now, and have 15-18 songs.

I know at least one member here has some experience playing in a band, and I was wondering if any vets on here had any pointers for a rookie in the music game. Any help would be appreciated.
