The last time the Wolves played the Jazz, we had a lively thread courtesy of Ol' Weird Harold. This time, we are going from America's most straight-laced state and crossing over the border to the least straight-laced: Nevada, best known as the home of Las Vegas.
Nevada does not have a deep roster of great musicians (though feel free as always to prove me wrong). The Killers, Panic at the Disco, and Ne-Yo are some decent contemporary acts that have had commercial success.
And songs about Nevada? Not a whole lot there, either, though there are a fair number about Vegas, some well known, some not. Elvis's "Viva Las Vegas," Sheryl Crow's "Leaving Las Vegas," and AC/DC's "Sin City" come to mind. Do you have any favorites?
Since Utah has two cats named Williams and MN has one of its own, I thought about doing a countdown of the greatest musicians with that last name: Hank Sr, Jr, and III; Lucinda, Don, Holly; Andy; and so on, but that seemed awfully narrow as well.
I have ended up at this: what are the best gambling songs? I submit for your approval a handful of candidates and look forward to hearing yours.
These songs are all so 20th Century. Anyone got something newer?
