Golden State Game Wrap

I attended the game yesterday with my 9 year old daughter. The only day game on the Puppies schedule all year. It's great to see the little fans. They haven't been scared by years of abuse at the hands of Glen Taylor and disciples. They don't know the Joe Smith Witch Trials. They have never been assaulted with the Jimmy Rodgers perm-job. They see Crunch, they smile. Kiddie dunk contest mc'd by a guy who constantly yells at you to do things...they are blissfully unaware.

The Golden Stater's acted like kids yesterday. J-Jack-em and rack-em played like it was the Conference finals. Carl Landry gave every thing he had to try and keep Peck off the block..and did well. The whole GS bench was hooting and hollering. When Luke inevitably missed his off balance fall away floater, they celebrated like they had won something. It was kinda of fun to see.

Here's the game.

The Wolves bench (No Christ again) played 56 minutes, scored 11 points on 4-18 from the floor and had 5 rebounds.

GS (7-17) from 3

Pups- (1-11)

Observations-

Luke guarding Klay Thompson. Give Luke credit, he fights, but Luke as a 2 is brutal.

The Unicorn was fantastic yesterday. His energy is incredible. I have to ask, how long can he play like this. 5 more years? I mean with this energy and reckless abandon? When will age compromise that ability? I know that if he's on a better team he will not have to try and do EVERYTHING. His will to win is full throttle.

Shawn Respert has done a good job with the Lion. He takes the elbow jumper now. He seems to be picking his drive attempts with slightly better decision making. He also moves the ball better. He was pretty bad a few times on the pick and roll defense. He was half ass and got caught in no mans land as he never committed either way.

Whose working with Ricky on the flat-line jumper? Just a little air under that would be great.

I've never seen Pek complain as much as he did yesterday about getting hacked and no calls. These past two games have seen some atrocious refereeing.

I could watch AK in practice all day. The guy is thinking about 2 moves ahead of most players. He understands where the help defense is coming and how to exploit it. His touch pass give and go's...butter.

We took Rashad Mcants at 15...Jarret Jack went 22. Duke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lastly, I like the OKC Shved, the driving, mid-range game. Please stop hoisting long 2's and 3's.
