And this is what we have been mostly watching instead:
We have luckily had this site to commiserate about the indignities that our on-crack management team has heaped upon us and about the googely-appendaged basketball gods knuckle-pushup (and countless other maladies) curse on our season. We all owe a large debt to Stop and Pop and Oceanary for getting us through this year without serious chemical abuse outbreaks. We also need to thank each other for sharing thoughts and strategies to improve our fate. Thanks everyone for all you have done to make a season that started tragically and proceeded into slapstick and pratfalls by the day bearable and even, on occasion, enjoyable!
Our last game is Wednesday against the Spurs, just one more team that is not a stranger to the concept of extending a season with meaningful games for their fans. I don't hate them because their organization is top notch and they are also a small market team. I just want to watch our Wolves unleash some Rubioops, Russian artillery and Pekerizing on their arses while in the company of fellow bloggers!
What say you fellow hoopers? Are you into the idea of a meetup at a local watering hole for the Spurs game? I'm not a person who spends much if any time at bars (sports, or otherwise), so am open to any suggestions from the community for a suitable location. I also work an early schedule, so can't promise that I personally will be there all that late into the evening (you may not look on this as a bad thing). I think a spot somewhat close to the city center or inner-ring suburbs might be the easiest for everyone to get to. I'll be happy to call whatever establishment is recommended and insist that our well-heeled group REQUIRES the game be shown on at least one screen that evening.
The last go-round at this there was tepid (let's be honest, minuscule) interest from the faithful. I'm hopeful that there will be greater interest this time, especially when I spread the rumor that the Glyph, formerly known as Prince, may make a surprise appearance at the gathering. Who says no to that?!
