Minutes Allocation for 2013-14???

In trying to imagine the upcoming season, I've had a little difficulty envisioning exactly how the players will be used by Adelman. So, to try to make this more concrete, I created a chart similar to one that we had posted last year. This really helped me to clarify some issues and also raised some significant questions.

I've attached a spreadsheet below of what I think is a possible minutes allocation for the players in 2013-14. In doing so, I've assumed a few things:

1. Adelman coming back

2. Pek being re-signed and Turiaf being his primary back-up

3. Corey starting over Chase, but Chase getting more minutes as the clear 6th man and ace of the 2nd unit. I'm not necessarily convinced that this would be the best choice, but I'm betting that this is what Adelman is going to do.

4. Players remaining healthy (I know - BIG Assumption!)

In the chart I'm throwing out as a discussion starter, I am trying to present what I think ADELMAN will do this year in a typical game if he's got all of his players. In all honesty, I don't think he would even use Shved or DWill for as many minutes as I've got them listed for right now (I'm expecting more of an 8 or 9-man rotation each night).

So, here is the chart:

The things that stood out to me in doing this little exercise are the following:

1. Shabazz and Dieng will be collecting a lot of DNP-CD's. Because of this, the previous suggestion of some CH'ers to give them some D-league burn, looks even more logical to me now than I previously had thought. I really doubt that these two are going to see much time in NBA games this year.

2. Shved and DWill are going to struggle to get on the court, too. This is sort of sad to me, because I'd like to see them get more time, but it seems that it is going to take injuries to get them minutes.

3. Wing minutes are the real mystery going into this season. If there is any part of this chart that I think could play out somewhat differently, it is the SG/SF columns. I could see that going a couple of different ways.

So, how does everyone else see this upcoming season playing out? On a typical evening with all players healthy, how will Adelman divvy up the minutes? Is my assumption of almost all of the wing minutes going to Kmart, Brewer and Budinger accurate? Any other insights?
