Hi folks, SlowBreak here with a shameless plug for this weekends various art fairs in Minneapolis. If you bothered clicking this link I'm guessing you can figure where I am going with this. If you came here seeking basketball this post will offer very little other than my favorite Ricky pass ever:
If you came for music my apologies are in order because I only have this:
If you are still with me at this point it is for one of two reasons: either you have nothing better to do than read this or you want to hear more about all the art fairs this weekend in Minneapolis. I will assume the former but will trudge forward with this anyway. What the hell, I've already started.
Anyway, as many of you most certainly know this coming weekend is home to the celebrated Uptown Art Fair. Anyone who has been to this knows that it is basically the State Fair with art instead of farm animals and rides. If you go ride your bike because parking can be a bear. What you might not know is that this weekend is also host to the Powderhorn Art Fair and the Loring Park Art Festival. Metro transit is even offering free bus rides between these three events making this weekend one of the artiest weekends on the Minneapolis calendar. (I would be remiss here to leave out the ongoing North East Minneapolis Art scene, including Art A Whirl, which features Canis Hoopus photoshop legend E-6 and his more serious talents).
So what's my interest in all this? Fair question. This is where I admit publically to having a shameless ulterior motive. The aforementioned Loring Park Art Festival will be featuring the drawings of Mrs. SlowBreak as she continues her most art showing summer ever. I couldn't be more proud of my better half. Here's why:
Here is another one but you won't see it this weekend because she just found out it was accepted into the Minnesota State Fair art show.
Anyway, sorry again for the shameless plug but if you are in town this weekend go see some art, eat at a food truck, and enjoy the cool summer weather. It will be basketball season soon enough.
Also, I know there are a good many talented writers, artists and musicians hanging out on this website. Share your website, let us support you, what have you got to lose?
