From 1 to 35,535: Former Timberwolves in Court (this week) Part One

Do you remember this last second shot by Tate George in the 1990 NCAA East Regionals?

George is currently on trial for fraud. Allegedly, he ran a Ponzi scheme that bilked Brevin Knight, Charlie Villanueva and others. Innocent until proven guilty, but the FBI's case makes it look like George is a bad egg.

Thankfully, he's not a former Timberwolf. But he did take one under his wing: Marques Bragg, who testified in George's trial this week. Bragg was not part of the scheme nor was he aware of it, he was simply trying to learn the real estate business and hooked up with the wrong guy.

Two things about Marques Bragg:

1 - He played for the Timberwolves as an undrafted forward from Providence, appearing in 53 games in the 95-96 season. That was his entire NBA career.

2 - His name does not lend itself to anagrams.
