Betting on the Wolves: Sacramento Kings @ Minnesota Timberwolves 11/22/14

Sorry for the late post today. I had to change my car battery and run some errands but to stay true to my promise I wanted to deliver. To recap I correctly predicted that the Wolves would be blown out by the Spurs. Although I predicted the under, The Spurs were able to cover, evening both my o/u and ATS records to 1-1.

Under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.

Road team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

Underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

Kings are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Minnesota.

Playing shorthanded for any team is difficult. Playing shorthanded when the majority of your players are in either their first or second year in the league is especially challenging. Facing the San Antonio Spurs (8-4) Friday night was no easy task for the Minnesota Timberwolves (3-8) as they were easily defeated 121-92. Tony Parker scored at ease and the Spurs coasted to an easy victory as the Wolves struggled to keep the game competitive beyond the first quarter.

Tonight the Wolves will host the Sacramento Kings (7-5) in an interesting matchup. The Kings have caught many teams by surprise this year but have struggled to close games, blowing big leads multiple times this season. However, Sacramento has looked good of late as they have won two of their last three.

Minnesota has beaten Sacramento four of the last five games the teams have played at the Target Center but it will be difficult to continue that trend with many of Minnesota's top guns out of the lineup. I expect a poor defensive showing for both teams though and I believe it will be high scoring.

Although all of the data points to the Kings, I am going with my heart in this one and picking the Wolves. I think the Wolves will come out firing on all cylinders and I'm expecting big games from Shabazz Muhammad and Andrew Wiggins. The Wolves will shock the Kings in an upset victory.

Andrew's Pick: Wolves +8.5, Over 211

Predicted Final Score: 115-108
