Betting on the Wolves: Minnesota Timberwolves @ Portland Trailblazers 11/30/14

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Although I didn't post an article for the Lakers game I did post my prediction on Twitter. I had the Wolves at +5.5 and the under. I was ambitious in thinking both teams would show up defensively but I was wrong. That is last time I'm taking the under until further notice.

Timberwolves vs Trail Blazers coverage

Blazer's Edge

The Wolves (4-10) take on the Trailblazers (12-4) at the Moda Center. Portland defends their home court as a 12.5 point favorite. Oddsmakers predict a high scoring game as the o/u is listed as 212.5.

Portland has one of the best starting lineups in the NBA featuring Damian Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge. Although he is listed as probable for tonight's game, Lillard is suffering from flu like symptoms. Depending on how he feels come tip, Lillard's minutes could be limited which could make life easier for the short handed Wolves. Lillard comes into tonight's game averaging 20.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game.

If Lillard can't go or is limited, LaMarcus Aldridge will pick up the majority of the offensive load. Aldridge is averaging 21.1 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Aldridge hasn't been as efficient this season but he has made the majority of his shots from the charity stripe.

The Wolves come into tonight's game with some momentum having outlasted the Lakers at the Staples Center 120-119. Zach LaVine posted his best game as a pro as he scored 28 points off the bench on 11 for 14 shooting. I don't think his impressive performance will carry over however and the Wolves will need to find scoring from other sources.

The Wolves have proved time and time again that they can score but they cannot defend. Portland is efficient and can score at will. This will be a high scoring game. Take the over and look for Portland to cover.

Andrew's Pick: Portland -12.5, Over 212.5

Predicted Final Score: 129-104
