I don’t usually write on here, maybe the occasional comment but I’m getting increasingly frustrated with our Timberpups. We’re missing a certain something and I personally think it has to do with the Bruise Brothers in the middle. Combined they’re defensive sieves, underrated or not. They can’t block shots and practically give anyone driving the lane a free pass.
I love both Pekovic and K-Love but together it doesn’t quite work so, as much as it saddens me, one of them’s got to go. With trade deadline looming I feel we need to make a trade to either rescue this season and/or set ourselves up for a real push next season.
I heard a proposal somewhere of sending out Pek for Omar Asik but I don’t think he has enough offense to make it fair.
But how about Pek for Andre Drummond plus some fillers like Charlie Villanueva’s expiring carcass? It works financially and I think it would help clog the paint.
I don’t really want to trade Kevin Love because he’s so unique. Nobody’s done what he’s doing since the days of Moses Malone and beyond (Oh if only he could defend!!) but with a consistent 3point shot. I mean who does that? 25-14 and 3 point range. Not even LeBron or MJ.
But if we did trade him, realistically I’d want Anthony Davis in return. We wouldn’t get a KD or LeBron obviously and I don’t think Aldridge, Blake or other similar big would leave their teams, either jumping or pushed. But I think the Brow is obtainable for someone like Love. Davis would give similar production in points and rebounds but gives us the defensive presence and athleticism we need. And he’s only a sophomore. That could be a stumbling block due to his salary. So my proposal would be the two Kevins, Love and Martin for Davis and Eric Gordon. The salaries fit, Gordon still has a bit to offer, similar to Martin. Ok, we lose much of our three point threat but we could address that in the summer.
What other proposals do you guys have? I think one of them has to go if we’re to make the play-offs this season or next. How do we fix our Wolves?
