Ronny Turiaf Out Indefinitely

The Wolves Center underwent an MRI today which revealed a bone bruise. The team provided no timetable for his return.

Ronny Turiaf was diagnosed with a bone bruise to his right knee after hurting it in last night's win over the Pacers. The Wolves provided no timetable for his return.

Here is the text of the press release the team sent out:

Minneapolis/St. Paul - The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced that Ronny Turiaf underwent an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Image) this morning at TRIA Orthopedics in Bloomington, Minn. that revealed a right knee bone bruise. He will be sidelined indefinitely.

The injury happened at the 7:15 mark of the fourth quarter of last night's 104-91 win over the Indiana Pacers.

The 6-10 center has appeared in 23 games, 10 starts, this year for the Wolves, averaging 4.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 20.9 minutes per game.

Turiaf has been starting in place of the injured Nikola Pekovic, who has been out with bursitis.  Pekovic returned to practice today, so hopefully he is nearing a return to action, which is much needed given the Turiaf injury.

The Wolves next play on Saturday in Utah, the beginning of a five game road trip that also takes them to Portland, Phoenix, Sacramento, and Denver.  They are going to need as many healthy, effective players as they can find.

Finally, the trade deadline has passed with no action from the Wolves.  There were rumblings of them trying to move J.J. Barea and get Andre Miller, and then later hints that they were talking with the Cavs about Jarrett Jack, but as usual, nothing came to fruition.

And Kevin Love is still a Timberwolf.
