NCAA Tournament Pool, Player Style

For many years, I did a "player pool" version of the NCAA bracket, in which players are selected instead of teams. Most points scored wins. Back in the day, we'd keep it to 8 teams with 10 players each, with a draft to distribute the players.

Since I don't want to arrange a draft or limit participation, I thought we could do it a little differently here. Anyone who wants to participate can enter a list of 10 players in the comments. The team with the most total points scored wins all of the March Madness Hoopus Points. (That's got to be at least 20 million, but Eric will have to tell me the budget.)

Round 1 games won't count. You can pick players from those teams, but their points will only start counting on Thursday or Friday. Entries must be marked before the games start on Thursday morning.

I could go on and on about strategies (there's even a logit-based forecasting model!), but I'll wait until after the teams are picked to bore you. The funny part has always been that there's enough randomness in the tourney that even the worst ex-ante strategies can win.

Enjoy!
