(MOTHER FLYNNING FLYNN! I just spent an hour researching, updating and formatting this post and the goddam iPad refreshed this webpage, which I had tried saving as I wrote, only to find it has reverted to a very early draft. Sorry, I just had to vent. Guess I'll have to redo the whole dam thing.)
Yes, this post is a few days late. On the other hand, the Timberwolves don't play another game for six months, so what's the rush?
I won't try to compete with the excellent recaps of this season already on CH, I'll simple end this series by updating all the statistics through all 81 games.
One of the more interesting things I've tracked this year is the performance of former Wolves (former = having played for Minnesota in the past few years). Who was the best of these guys in 2013-14? Read on to find out the BREW.
NOTES
Minnesota was:
- 10th in differential (2.67)
- 10th in strength of schedule
- 9th in SRS
- 9th in ORtg (108.9) and 12th in DRtg (106.2)
- 4th in pace
- Four Factors (offense): 21st in eFG%; 2nd in TOV%; 7th in ORB%; 4th in FT/FGA
TIMBERWOLVES: 40-42, 10th in the Western Conference (8 games out of 8th; but it would have been good enough for 8th in the Eastern Conference).
LAST 9 GAMES +1 (4-5; I predicted 3-6. I got the three B2B losses correct and everything else wrong. This was the Wolves' season in microcosm: islands of excellence in a sea of mediocrity.)

Age and health caught up with Luke and Andrei. High draft picks Beas, Derrick and Wes did not blossom into stars once they were uncaged. Journeymen Greg, Martell and Anthony journeyed onward with nice seasons. So it's appropriate that the first annual BREW! Award goes to AT, a likable guy who keeps on keeping on.
And, as Wolves fans, this list of average to mediocre performances (.100 is league average) means we don't have to cry about "the one who got away."
