So I'm a Celtics fan and I've been following Canis Hoopus for a while to gauge the reaction to a Love to the Cs trade and obviously I can't see how the Wolves would want to deal their best player for Sullinger / Olynyk and some picks that Wolves fans don't really have a lot of confidence will be well-made, so I was wondering about three team trades that would facilitate bringing in a young "star" on a long contract--I'd hate for my team to trade for someone like Klay who will almost immediately either need to be resigned at Max dollars or will walk, it doesn't seem like it'd be helping the situation. I thought the Afflalo addition was interesting, but don't see how he moves the needle much and Faried is almost in the same boat as Klay, needing to be extended soon.
Anyway, my thought was about including the Pelicans. They have a busy back court, want a first round pick, and might be best suited for clearing cap space off the future books. What would Wolves fans think about getting this return for Love and Kevin Martin:
The rest of the particulars would include the 17 pick going to NO, with Kevin Martin and Brandon Bass and Boston ending up with Love.
Anyway, that was a thought I had. I think if the Wolves went with someone like Aaron Gordon at 6 who could provide awesome defense without having to or needing to touch the ball, that'd be a pretty good return and could still leave them in an ok place in the West. Your thoughts?
