As an Outsider, Wolves have hope

To state this now, I am a rockets fan, interested by the wolves current situation. This is usually one the most highly regarded SB Nation site on the web and as I have read, it is deserving so. I'm not here to post about a love Houston trade, if one has assumed so by this point (as we rocket fans know we are obviously outgunned), but to state the opportunity of the future for wolves' fanbase who have been abused by poor management.

As there is a high possibility of love being traded, the ONLY current option worth and that needs to be held out for would be one for Andrew Wiggins. Now as it is known by stat obsessed fan bases like Canis and TDS, that stats have not been too kind to wiggins, but one can not deny is ungodly potential and is the only option of getting a future star instead of a bunch of role players for love.(As an added note, fuck Cleveland) Now it is not just the thought of wiggins and other spare parts, but starting a complete rebuild around a core of super athletes. That core would revolve around Andrew Wiggins, Zach Lavine, Gorgui Dieng, and Glen Robinson.

The reason these should be the core to build around is due their youth, potential, and talent. Turning Lavine into a ball handling combo guard, Westbrook like while having Wiggins man the SG as Lavine's backcourt companion. (Yes this theorized situation does not involve Rubio as you simply cannot build around a PG that can't shoot in the modern NBA even if he has the niftiest passes around.) Then you have GR3 man the SF position where he would be far more effective playing off-ball from Lavine and Wiggins as he did in college. This would have ungodly athleticism, shooting, and defensive potential at the point and wings. Finally you have Dieng at the center who personally impressed me when he posted a 20-20 game against the rockets. Grabbing every rebound in sight, creating steals, blocking shots, and even hitting mid range jumpshots. Not a real surprise though considering he was rated as one of the top players of the 2013 class. I see him becoming one of the top players from that class along with MCW, Noel, and Oladipo. IMO the center of a team needs to be a rim protector, leader of the defense and dominant rebounder. Dieng from what I have seen has the potential to embody that and then some. The only missing piece would be a power forward, which happens to be the deepest position in the the 2015 draft. Convenient?

As I stated it needs to be a full rebuild, try to trade any veteran or asset beyond the core four for picks, young players, and future assets while letting negative value contracts expire as like the 76ers. This would also keep the wolves from conveying their 1st rounder to the suns. That is all just side business meant to be used to build around the core while essentially tanking for another key piece. This would form a period of painful tanking and fun watching development season of young prospects at the same time for a better tomorrow. The only obstacle unfortunately is your management.
