Tis The Season

Sorry for the delay, had some access issues with PayPal. Everything's fine now.

It has been brought to our attention that the fine folks over at Blazer's Edge are putting together a little shindig for their fans on December 27th.  They've come across some additional tickets and are going to give them away to the utes' of Portland.  (You can read more about the event by clicking here.)

Minnesota has a long and proud tradition of donating to the great northwest.  I don't know if Blazer fans have ever heard of a player named Brandon Roy, but he was donated to Portland shortly after being drafted by the Wolves back in 2006.  It's called Minnesota Nice, people...it's how we roll.

In all seriousness, we here at Hoopus think that this is a phenomenal idea and we would like to send the folks at Blazer's Edge a couple of tickets that can then be used to take a kid to the greatest game on earth being played at the highest level....and no, we're not talking about a drunken rock-paper-scissors tournament in my basement....which is kind of creepy now that I think about it.  Anywho...

Someday, when the Wolves have a...shall we say...larger fanbase, we here at Hoopus would love to be able to pull of something like this at the Target Center.  If and when that day comes, we'd like to ask Blazers fans to return the favor and this is why we're asking our readers to donate what they can so that some underprivileged children can attend a professional basketball game.

If you are interested in donating, please send funds via PayPal to wyn.douglas@gmail.com.  Each ticket is $22 and we will collect funds until this Saturday at noon.  If we collect an odd-ball dollar amount, I will boost up the final tally so that it is enough to buy another ticket.  If we by some chance raise more money than there are tickets available, or if Blazer's Edge sells all of the tickets before we can give them the cash, we will donate the remaining amount to Ryan Gomes' Hoops for Heart Health fund.
