The Workouts So Far

The Wolves had Kansas swingman Brandon Rush and Michigan State point guard Drew Neitzel in today.

Rush is a strong all-around player, offensively and defensively, who should be ready to contribute right away. He's a better shooter than slasher (as opposed to CDR, who's the opposite), but that tends to be the case with the Rush brothers. His current mock projections put him at border-line lottery pick, which tells you that the rumors are right: the Wolves must be talking trade. Whether it's trading down from #3, up from #31 and #34 or in for a player or future pick remains unknown, of course.

Neitzel's a bit more surprising here. In the mocks, he barely registers. The only one that currently lists him is NBADraft.net at #57. We don't have a pick down there, but if Neitzel goes undrafted (very likely) perhaps the Wolves will invite him to camp.

Here are the players that have already visited the Target Center and their current mock positions:

  • PLAYER (DraftExpress, NBADraft.net, RealGM, Chad Ford)
  • Brook Lopez (9, 9, 9, 9)
  • Bryce Taylor (56, 50, 56, N)
  • Nicolas Batum (20, 21, 17, 25)
  • Chris Douglas-Roberts (25, 25, 27, 27)

  • DeAndre Jordan (19, 11, 15, 21)
  • Kosta Koufos (16, 24, 18, 14)
  • Kevin Love (5, 5, 5, 5)
