Flynn says he could be playing in a week and more
From Kent Youngblood/Star Tribune:
The Wolves point guard, on the mend from left hip surgery, participated in an intense post-practice 3-on-3 scrimmage Sunday with both words and elbows flying.
"I hadn't been that competitive since before surgery," Flynn said, referring to the late- July procedure to repair a torn labrum. "So that was good."
Monday was better, with Flynn taking full part in scrimmages during practice. Afterward, a confident Flynn said: "It's a big possibility I could be playing within a week, whether it's the [Developmental] League or the NBA. Get one game in the D-League, a rehab game. So, within the next week, there is a high possibility I'll be playing."
From Ray Richardson/Pioneer Press:
Flynn said his decision on when he feels he's ready to play could come "within the next couple of days." At that point, the Wolves are expected to send him to the Sioux Falls Skyforce to play one or two games with the Wolves' affiliate in the NBA Development League. Flynn and Wolves coach Kurt Rambis agreed on the D-League assignment.
"The D-League is the best thing for me," said Flynn, who started 81 games as a rookie last season. "I need to get used to the speed of the game again."
