Minnesota guard Brandon Roy has had setbacks in his knee rehab according to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, making his return time to the Timberwolves lineup uncertain. Wojnarowski followed up by adding that Roy had recently returned to practice after last month's surgery, before being forced to "step away again in [the] past 48 hours."
This is obviously disappointing news for Roy, a former All-Star who has had a history of knee problems.
Roy was one of the league's top guards in his five-year run in Portland, but was also plagued by constant injuries. In total, he had six surgeries on his knees between the time he started high school until the end of his run with the Trail Blazers, which came during the 2011 season. Roy took off the entire 2011-12 season, before electing to return to the NBA and play with the Timberwolves for 2013.
And despite early-season success in Minnesota (he averaged just under six points a game in the five contests he suited up for), Roy's knees have continued to bother him.
Roy underwent another surgery on Nov. 19 after bumping knees with an opposing player in a Nov. 9 game.
