- Jon Krawczynski of the Associated Press looks at Derrick Williams, who hopes to make a Kevin Love-type improvement over the summer. "I think K-Love was probably in my spot when he first got here as a rookie, being a high draft pick and Al Jefferson was here," Williams said. "He's really made big strides. Hopefully I can follow in his footsteps and help him out."

- The New York Knicks' Tyson Chandler officially won the 2011-12 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year award. Chandler received 311 points, including 45 first-place votes. Serge Ibaka finished second with 294 points and Dwight Howard finished third with 186 points. Ron Artest and Gary Payton are the only non-PFs or non-Cs to have won DPOY since 1987-88.
Miscellaneous
- Junior Seau, the future Hall-of-Fame linebacker who spent most of his career with San Diego Chargers, was found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. Seau was 43.
- The Los Angeles Angels' Jered Weaver pitched a no-hitter against the Minnesota Twins and the Angels won 9-0.
NBA Playoff Recap
- The score was 28-17 after the 1st quarter, 53-28 at halftime, and the San Antonio Spurs never looked back. They ended up winning 114-83 over the Utah Jazz and are now up 2-0 in the series.
- The Indiana Pacers regained homecourt advantage, defeating the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center 97-74. Danny Granger had 26 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Pacers. Indiana leads the series 2-1.
- The Memphis Grizzlies were up by double digits in the 4th quarter once again. This time, they didn't relinquish the lead. O.J. Mayo scored 10 of his 20 points in the final period and the Grizzlies defeated the Los Angeles Clippers, 105-98. The series is tied at 1-1.
