NBA Playoffs

  • Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder is at 8 PM CST tonight on ABC.
  • NBA Finals referees will wear a No. 57 patch on their jerseys to recognize referee Greg Willard, who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
  • NBA referee Steve Javie, who retired before the start of the season due to an arthritic right knee, has been hired by ESPN as a rules analyst for their broadcasts.
  • Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal says that it is time for Northeast Ohio to forgive, or at least forget, LeBron James.
  • Barack Obama declined to make a prediction about the Finals, saying, "Both teams look terrific and I am looking forward to a good series. Hopefully, it will go to seven games. But I can't make a prediction right now. They both look pretty tough."
  • On ESPN, however, J.A. Adande, Kevin Arnovitz, Mark Stein, Michael Wallace and Brian Windhorst made lots of predictions about the Finals.
