Glen Taylor Chooses His Successor

Nate and I are both on vacation today, so Daily Cup will be back tomorrow. In the meantime, Glen Taylor has picked a successor:

Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor is close to a deal to sell a 25 percent stake in the team to an unidentified buyer, who eventually will become the majority owner, the Star Tribune reports.

Taylor declined to reveal the buyer's identity until the deal is finalized. The buyer is not from the Twin Cities, but Taylor said the buyer has agreed to keep the Wolves and the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx in the state as part of the purchase agreement.

Taylor will remain involved with the Wolves for "a number of years," maintaining a stake in the franchise.
