  • What do we know about the Strib's soon-to-be majority owner? (Minn Post)
  • USA's big 2nd half downs Argentina. (Yahoo Sports)
  • Melo gets hit below the belt. Yelling ensues. (5thquartermag)
  • My Fitness Pal review. (A Merry Life)
  • The squishy science of counting calories. (Wonkblog)
  • Health care is the elephant. (Wonkblog)
  • ESPN's Tim Tebow lovefest. (CJR)
  • Olympic physics: Bob Beamon's crazy jump. (Wired Science)
  • Heat waves of 2011 linked directly to man-made climate change. (Scientific American)
  • Rubik's Cube is back! (NY Times science page)
  • Assad strikes oil deal. (Danger Room)

  • Women and children fare poorly in ship disasters. (NY Times)
  • The best beer in Oklahoma. (Beer Advocate--ED NOTE: It's really good. However, it is not bottled. Coop's Native Amber is the best canned Okie beer.)
  • Our best food find on our recent trip to OKC.
  • If you're looking to run in OKC, here's the best running store to get you pointed in the right direction. They also have really, really awesome running shirts:

And yes, it is kind of cool to go to a town where a bazillion businesses adopt the local pro basketball team into their own marketing and products. Thunder references are everywhere. It's cool, but not cool enough to allow Oklahoma to defeat the Heat....both LeBron and climate based versions.
