Lynx Go for Sweep, WNBA Championship in Georgia

Having won the first two games of the series easily on their home floor, the Lynx look for a sweep in Georgia tonight.

Tonight could be the night that the Minnesota Lynx bring home their second WNBA title in three years, as they go for the sweep against the Atlanta Dream at the Gwinnett Arena, where Maya Moore won three consecutive state high school championships.

The opportunity to return home to capture her second WNBA championship arrives tonight at 7:30 Central time.

The Lynx have been the best team in the league this season, and have backed it up in the playoffs, winning all six post-season contests.  They've done it with stifling defense that has consistently held opponents under 40% shooting, and efficient offense led by Moore and Seimone Augustus.  Lindsay Whalen has established herself as the best point guard in the WNBA, and Rebekkah Brunson is one of the league's top rebounders.  Janel McCarville has returned to play and successfully replaced Taj McWilliams in the post, showing off her passing touch along with her physicality under the basket.

In sum, the Lynx are on the verge of completing the mission they set for themselves after losing to the Indiana Fever in last season's Finals.  They have been the best team in the WNBA all season, and look to cap off a magnificent year tonight.

You should watch.  It might be your last chance to see the best women's basketball team in the world until next year.

And it could be a championship night.
