Game. Day. It's here. Finally.

The Timberwolves will be in action tonight against CSKA Moscow at Target Center. The game is scheduled for 7:00 Central and will be televised on FSN.

To celebrate:

Looks like everyone other than Chase Budinger will be available tonight.  Game thread will be coming.

...Remember, though...it's pre-season. If memory serves, one of the Rambis teams went something like 6-2 one pre-season, and proceeded to win 17 games in the regular season.

Still. Wolves basketball.  Tonight.  I'll be looking to see what sorts of things they are working into their offense after the talk about diversifying from their pick and roll game. Will they try getting Love in the high post as a facilitator? What sorts of off-ball action will we see?  Should be fun to watch.

In real basketball, the Lynx crushed the Atlanta Dream in last night's Finals opener. Tim was there, and wrote about it here.

When Maya Moore, who led the team with 23 points, made the first basket of the game, a three pointer with her signature quick release, an already excited crowd at Target Center went nuts.  They barely quieted down the rest of the night, as the Lynx parlayed a hot start into a rout, and the party was on.

Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio have bought 500 tickets to Tuesday's game two, and they are being given away. Here's an article with the information, as well as a video of a Rubio courtside interview from last night.

Today's birthday is cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who was born on this date in 1955.  I've pasted a short clip below, but go listen to his interpretations of all of the Bach Cello Suites. Holy shit is that good.

This is an open thread. Not closed. Open. Wide freaking open.
