The Minnesota Lynx look to take a commanding 2 games to none lead in their best of five championship series against the Atlanta Dream.
The Lynx took control early in game one behind their defense and the scoring of Maya Moore. They will look to do the same tonight at Target Center, where a raucous crowd will once again be on hand to cheer for the locals.
Atlanta will look to get the ball inside, where they had an advantage in game one, outscoring the Lynx in the paint 44-35. It was their inability to make perimeter shots (0-15 from three) that cost them game one, and while they will look to press their interior advantage even more, they will have to make some shots from the arc to stay with the Lynx.
For Minnesota, they got contributions from everywhere in game one, with Moore and Seimone Augustus joined by 6th man Monica Wright to lead the offense. Janel McCarville, who is suffering with a bad back, was able to provide her usual physical play and excellent passing out of the high post, and Rebekkah Brunson did the dirty work down low.
The Lynx have been the better team all season, were the better team in game one on Sunday, and are just two wins away from a second championship in three years.
The game is at 7:00 pm Central on ESPN2.
