Timberwolves Notes: Martin, Cunningham Hurting, Draft Update

Just some bits for your morning cup of Canis.

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

The Wolves get their first look at the shocking Portland Trail Blazers tonight, who are merely 22-4 on the season so far. Damian Lillard scored 36 for them and made the game winner in a dramatic win in Cleveland last night.

Tonight the Wolves get them on the 2nd night of a back to back--the next three times they meet the Wolves will be on the 2nd night of B2Bs.

For Blazers coverage, check out Blazers Edge.

The Wolves will likely be without Dante Cunningham, who twisted his ankle in Boston. No definitive update on Kevin Martin's availability after he missed the Celtics game with sore knees, but JerryZ speculates he won't go either.

For anyone who missed it yesterday, here is vjl110's weekly(ish) draft prospect update:

Tim's terrific trade speculation article got a lot of attention yesterday, and his general sense is right: the Wolves are unlikely to be active this season. They made their deal already, and there just isn't anything left to trade.

Looks like the Rockets are ready to trade Omer Asik. Seems like most of the talk is about the 76ers and Celtics right now, but we'll see what happens.
